Friday, Saturday and a Little of Sunday

Friday at school was "one of those days". The morning wasn't too badly, but the afternoon reminded me of the t-shirt that asks, "Where am and I going and why am I in this basket?)

Immediately on my return from lunch - in the vault - we had a routine "lock-down" complete with Zillion the drug dog. I don't really understand why we call it a lock down. Nothing is locked down. Visitors continue to come and go, along with students who are being picked up by their parents "just because". When I'm told to make the ALL CLEAR announcement, I can't help but wonder WHAT is all clear and HOW is that DETERMINED.

Not too long after this drill was completed, a student (one of our finest), began parading through the office with a kitten on his shoulder. No - I'm not kidding - and yes it was a real kitten. For those who know me, you might not believe this, but there ARE many times that I keep my opinions to myself, but this was not one of them. In my never-ending and mostly unsuccessful attempt to maintain a professional atmosphere in the main office, there are some things I CANNOT tolerate. A defenseless kitten being put in the care of this student was one of them. After a visit to the administrators, the kitten and kid paraded themselves out of the "main" office and into the smaller office from where they had come. Cat therapy??????

By 3:30, I literally ran out of the building.

Saturday found me visiting Curves, Kohls and Kroger. At Kohl's I believe I made my most successful purchase ever.

They were having a sale to begin with, so I picked up a pair of shoes that were originally marked $44.95. I had a $19.?? credit and a coupon for an extra 15% off. When I checked out I got the shoes AND A PENNY! It was so much fun telling (husband) Jeff that Kohl's gave me a penny to take the shoes.

Saturday evening we went to Jeff's mom's for dinner.

Today I skipped church. Special music was planned and I wasn't interested. I got a lot accomplished here, so feel like God will be pleased any way.

Now it is 2:30 and we haven't had lunch yet. Jeff had a showing and he wanted to wait until he got back to eat. I wish he'd hurry. I'm running out of steam and would like to hit the couch with a new book, but can't risk it right now. I may go to sleep and miss lunch.
