Birthday Week-End

Jeff turned 53 on Thursday-August 31. Farrah turned 23 on Saturday-September 2. I wish I'd planned it better. Two birthdays so close together is hectic, especially when I want to make each of them special. It's been suggested to combine the celebrations, but I think they each deserve a special day of their very own, s0 they get to pick the menu and any special activity.

This year Jeff wanted JTM's, tater tots, cole slaw and cheesecake. I don't like to serve hamburgers for meals, so this is really a treat for him. I always make two cheesecakes so he can have a snack for a few days.Farrah wanted meatloaf, mashed potatos and corn, white or yellow cake with chocolate frosting. (I also made wilted lettuce because I know she likes it, too).

Farrah and Jim didn't come home until Sunday, so we had Jeff's birthday meal when they arrived. Later we went to see Invincible. We stopped for ice-cream on the way home. Farrah and Jim then went to visit Grandma Judy and Jeff went to a meeting. When he got home Farrah made 3-ways. Jeff says he had a good birthday.

We had Farrah's birthday today. After lunch we played bridge. Farrah said her birthday was good too. She and Jim left about 5:30. As usual, I'm always a little lonely when they leave. Yes, Jeff is still here, but I miss Farrah. I don't know where the 23 years have gone.
